Before Arrival

Have the work area ready before the MARS visit starts.

Access

Clear The Printer Area

Move clutter, provide room around the printer, and make sure the machine can be inspected without moving unsafe items.

Power

Safe Outlet / Power Strip

Use a stable power setup. Avoid overloaded cords, liquids, damaged plugs, unstable tables, and blocked ventilation.

Materials

Have Filament Ready

Have the filament you normally use, any failed print, needed tools, loose parts, and accessories available for inspection.

Customer

Approved Person Present

An adult customer or approved representative should be available to answer questions and approve any change in scope.

At Arrival

Confirm the job before tools come out.

Scope

Read The Approved Scope

Confirm the service requested, known symptoms, starting price, limits, travel notes, and what is not included.

Safety

Check The Environment

Pause if there are unsafe conditions: unstable setup, fumes, liquid, exposed wiring, heat risk, sharp damage, or blocked access.

Baseline

Capture Initial State

Note the printer status, current failure, settings if relevant, visible damage, and whether the machine can move safely.

Approval

Confirm Before Expanding

If the job changes after inspection, stop and confirm the new quote path before continuing.

Service Work

Keep the visit focused on approved MARS work.

Diagnostics

Find The Cause

Check symptoms such as first-layer issues, jams, clicking, rubbing, motion problems, belts, extrusion, and filament path trouble.

Tune-Up

Adjust Practical Items

Handle approved leveling, motion, belt, extrusion, guide, holder, clip, bracket, and basic setup work within the quoted scope.

Parts

Quote Parts Separately

Replacement parts, printed repair parts, hardware, extra filament, and follow-up visits require approval before moving ahead.

Limits

Do Not Force Unsafe Repairs

Decline or pause work when repair is unsafe, outside scope, warranty-sensitive, board-level, or likely to cost more than practical replacement.

Before Leaving

Wrap up with clear notes and next steps.

Test

Run A Reasonable Check

Use a short movement, extrusion, fit, or setup check when appropriate. Long test prints and production runs are separate unless quoted.

Notes

Summarize Work Done

Record what was inspected, adjusted, replaced, declined, or recommended for follow-up.

Customer

Explain Next Steps

Tell the customer what to watch, what not to change yet, and whether a part, print, pickup, or second visit is needed.

Follow-Up

Send The Right Link

Use after-service, maintenance, review/referral, or a fresh quote request depending on the next action.
